The Rose in History
Science tells us that the rose has been on this earth for 35 million years. In the 15 century it was the symbol of fighting to control England . The white rose was for York and the red rose was for Lancaster. This is where the term war of the roses came from.
Roses were used during the 17th century as a form of legal tender. Rose water was used to trade and barter for goods. Today it is a symbol of love and especially during valentines day. Flowers cards and gifts grace the homes of millions during this celebration of love.
