Happy president's day everyone.. Some fun facts about the presidents we are honoring today.

George Washington was standing on the balcony of Federal Hall on wall Street when he took the oath of office on April 30, 1789.  Fun fact this building still stands today check it out it is very near wall street.  When you get a chance to visit New York this would be a interesting place to visit.
I never understood the  sharing of the two presidents birthdays . Abraham Lincoln was a much loved president and of course met his tragic end at ford's theater. I was wondering if anyone one has been to Gettysburg I had the pleasure of visiting there and toured the room he stayed in when he wrote that famous address. Their is a rare picture  of this event I will try and see if I can find it and post it.

This is the picture where you can see the man with hat next to the flag is said to be Lincoln. They still have on display the chair he sat in waiting to give his speech in a museum in the town.

In April we know he was murdered by John Wilks Booth and he was take across the street to a home where he lived for a few more hours and passed away . A famous quote from that time he belongs to the ages now.

May you have a great president's day and think about the great men who helped shape America.
